Lamé (textile)

Lamé refers to light fabrics that contain metal threads in the weft : In contrast to brocade , the metal threads are usually inserted at larger intervals into a base fabric such as taffeta. Usually silk or cotton is used in the chain. Lamé is used, among other things, for festive women's clothing. Fine metal threads themselves are also called lamé.
