Lambrecht Buck (* 14th century in Aachen ; † around 1462 ibid) was a German lay judge and mayor of the imperial city of Aachen .

Life

The son of Lambert Buck and Johanna von der Roetschen was first mentioned as a member of the aldermen in 1420 and should not be confused with the mayor Lambrecht Buck, who was a few years younger and later multiple times, from the group of guilds. The alderman Buck was Greve of the Matthias Brotherhood in 1427 and was appointed rentmaster in 1440 and a year later as builder. Furthermore, he took over the office of Meiers von Burtscheid from 1440 and was elected to the office of secular lay judge at the Sendgericht in 1442, 1446 and 1459 . In addition, he was elected mayor of the Free Imperial City of Aachen in 1432, 1440, 1442, 1446, 1448 and 1452 . According to later revised sources, the years of office 1409 and 1441 specified in the source “Die Schöffen des kgl. Stuhl” are transmission errors and are therefore not applicable.

The high point of his tenure was the organization of the coronation ceremonies for Frederick III in 1442 . from the House of Habsburg to the Roman-German King in Aachen. His election had already taken place in 1440, but in the context of the traditional Aachen coronations he received the formal confirmation and the corresponding imperial insignia .

Lambrecht Buck was married to Drude Beissel, a daughter of the former mayor Johann Beissel .
