Lamin J. Sanneh was a candidate for the United Democratic Party (UDP) in the 2017 parliamentary elections in the Brikama South constituency in the West Coast Administrative Region . With 46.14% he was able to win over the constituency before Sanna Bojang (APRC).

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Gambia , Sanneh, a social worker for many years, has led the fight against the pandemic in his constituency and has used community-based initiatives to raise awareness and empower his people against the pandemic.
