Lamin S. Darboe

Lamin S. Darboe (* 20th century in Gunjur ) is Seyfo (also the English term Chief is common) for the Gambian district of Kombo South .

Life

Darboe served in Kombo South District as Seyfo until he was removed from his post in December 1995 by the then military junta under the leadership of Yahya Jammeh . Subsequent offers for the post of governor or the reinstatement as Seyfo always refused in the Jammeh era Darboe on principled grounds.

In the government of Adama Barrow , Darboe was reinstated as Seyfo effective September 4, 2017. He replaces Ajeh Janneh , who was Seyfo for two decades in the Jammeh era.
