The herring sharks ( Lamna ) are a genus of the mackerel sharks (Lamnidae) and thus the sharks (Selachii).

anatomy

The porbeagle can be over 2 meters long. It lives in the near-surface water layers, where it prefers to hunt mackerel and herrings, hence its name.

distribution

The porbeagle shark lives in the North Sea to the coast of Norway, but it is most common in southern Norway, as it is there that it finds most of the food that is suitable for it.
