Aldo Lamorte

Aldo Lamorte (* 1957 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan architect and politician .

Lamorte, who belongs to the Unión Cívica as its chairman, initially studied successfully at the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad de la República . Since then he has been working as an architect. In this context, his works include the buildings of the Hotel Palladium , the headquarters of the Cámara de Industrias and the Terminal de Ómnibus Suburbanos in Calle Río Branco . He is also the head of the Asociación de Promotores Privados de la Construcción del Uruguay .

In the primaries for the presidential election in Uruguay in 1999 , he ran as a candidate for the Unión Cívica , but was defeated there by Luis Pieri . In the local elections in the following year he ran - unsuccessfully - for the office of Intendente in the Montevideo department. In the 2004 presidential election he was the only candidate for his party. Here he lost with 4,859 votes and 0.22% in the overall result in sixth place.

Both in 2006 and in the parliamentary elections in Italy in 2008 , the Italo-Uruguayan stood for election abroad for the Unione dei Democratici Cristiani e Democratici di Centro .
