The Lanark County Buildings are the seat of the Council of South Lanarkshire Scottish Council Area . Until the reform in 1996 they were the seat of government for the county of Lanarkshire . You are in Hamilton , the capital of South Lanarkshire. In 1993 the complex was included in the Scottish Monument Lists in the highest monument category A.

The plant occupies an area of approximately 15,000 m 2 at the Almada Street one. It consists of three interconnected buildings. In the center, a 17-story, modern high-rise rises 61 m. This is connected to a three-story office building on the northwest side. In the forecourt is a rotunda with the plenary hall of the government council. The regional architect David Gordon Bannerman provided the design for the complex, which was built between 1959 and 1964 . The total estimated cost was £ 1.3 million. Only the three-story office building was built in 1938.

The striking high-rise offers office space of 8,640 m 2. Six high-speed elevators connect the individual floors with one another. The curtain wall consists of an anodized aluminum frame with suspended windows. The plenary hall in the rotunda has space for 120 members and 50 spectators or representatives of the press. Vertical slot windows run around the building. The final lantern is covered with slate.
