William Lance Burton (born March 10, 1960 in Louisville , Kentucky , USA ) is an American magician .

At the age of 22, he won the World Magic Championship in Lausanne ( Switzerland ) , which is held every three years by the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques (FISM). This made him the youngest and first US winner of this competition at the time.

Lance Burton appeared on The Tonight Show and appeared in front of both a US President and Queen Elizabeth II.

He was seen with his own show for fourteen years at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas . For this purpose the "Lance Burton Theater" was built there for 27 million dollars. His contract expired in September 2010 and, as announced in April, was not extended. The Monte Carlo replaced it with a show by the Jabbawockeez dance group . The group had won the first edition of America's Best Dance Crew MTV competition .

In addition to his TV specials of his show, which were broadcast on American television, Lance also played in an episode of the popular series Knight Rider from the 1980s. There he played a mixture of himself and a murderous magician.
