The Saxon State Office for Taxes and Finance ( LSF ), based in Dresden , reports to the Saxon State Ministry of Finance . The LSF is responsible for the official and technical supervision of the tax offices of the Free State of Saxony.

The State Office for Taxes and Finances has its headquarters in Dresden . There are further locations in Chemnitz and Leipzig .

About history

The State Office for Taxes and Finances was created through the adoption of the 2011/2012 budget as a result of cost-cutting measures resulting from the merger of the State Office for Finance and the Chemnitz Regional Finance Directorate on January 1, 2011. This made it one of the largest authorities in Saxony.

tasks

The State Office for Taxes and Finances is responsible for the financial administration . In particular, it is responsible for

  • the determination, arrangement and accounting of the salaries for civil servants, employees and pension recipients of the Free State of Saxony, including the determination of aid,
  • the central billing of travel expenses, separation allowances and relocation allowance,
  • the judicial representation of the Free State of Saxony in accordance with the Representation Ordinance (VertV) including dunning procedures and compulsory enforcement, as well as the handling of traffic accidents
  • the processing of all bookings in payment transactions with Saxon authorities
  • the supervision of the tax offices
