The National Festival of Polish Song (Polish: "Krajowy Festiwal Piosenki Polskiej") is an annual music festival that was held in the city of Opole for a long time , which is why it was also known as the Festiwal Opole . It is regarded as one of the most important events besides the festival in Sopot .

The music festival was held for the first time in 1963 and only interrupted once in 1982 during the imposition of martial law . In later years the program was expanded to include rock and hip-hop .

After disputes between the artists, the organizer TVP and the city of Opole, and some artists waiving their performance, the 2017 festival in Opole was canceled. The organizer TVP would like to broadcast the festival from the city of Kielce from now on. A possible venue could be the Kadzielnia open-air theater.
