State government

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A state government is the name given to the highest collegial government and administrative organs of the member states of a federal state or in the autonomous regional bodies of a decentralized unitary state .

Since the member states in Switzerland are not referred to as federal states but as cantons , the Swiss name is analogous to the cantonal government . The term state government, on the other hand, is a common paraphrase used by the Federal Council in Switzerland .
