State Association of the Lower Saxony Dairy Industry
The Landesvereinigung der Milchwirtschaft Niedersachsen e. V. , based in Hanover, is a registered association that brings together all associations and organizations that are involved in Lower Saxony's dairy industry through production, processing, trading and consumption .
It has been awarding the Golden Olga every year since 2001 , an award for sustainable management by milk-producing farms in Lower Saxony . The winner can call himself "Best milk producer in Lower Saxony" in the respective year. The prize money is € 3500. The visible sign of the award is a life-size golden cow named "Olga", which can be placed at the entrance to the farm. Further prizes are the Silver Olga and the Bronze Olga with prize money of € 2000 and € 1500 respectively.
