Landry (Nevers)

Landry (Landerich) († May 11, 1028 ) was a Count of Nevers . He was a son of the lord of the castle Bodo von Monceaux .

Landry married Mathilde around 989 († 1005), daughter of Count Otto Wilhelm of Burgundy , who was endowed with the county of Nevers as a dowry by her father . After the death of Duke Henry of Burgundy in 1002, he supported his father-in-law in the struggle for rule in the Duchy of Burgundy against King Robert II the Pious . He took over the defense of Auxerre , which was surrounded by a large royal army in 1005. Landry had to surrender, but was pardoned. The king intended to get him to his side and offered one of his daughters to Landry's son, Rainald . The princess was to be given the county of Auxerre in the marriage.
