Bigge-Lister-Bergland landscape protection area, type B

The nature reserve Bigge-Lister-Bergland, type B with 293  hectares is located in the district of Olpe . It was designated in 2013 by the district council of the district of Olpe as a landscape protection area (LSG) of type A (general landscape protection) with the landscape plan No. 1 Bigge and Listertalsperre . The LSG is located in the Attendorn , Olpe and Drolshagen areas . The LSG extends to the outskirts of the settlement.

The LSG includes meadow valleys and other grassland around Biggesee and Listertalsperre in the landscape plan area. Also to protect the meadow valleys and the rivers there.

Protection purpose

The designation was made to secure and maintain the natural suitability for recreation and the efficiency of the natural balance against the diverse civilizational demands on nature and landscape.

Legal regulations

In the landscape protection area, among other things, the erection of structures and the drainage of groundwater, even when waterlogged, are prohibited.

Initial afforestation and the new planting of Christmas tree cultures, ornamental twigs and tree nursery cultures are subject to official approval from the Lower Nature Conservation Authority .
