Biggesee / Listersee landscape protection area
The nature reserve Biggesee / Listersee with 738 hectares is located in the district of Olpe . In 2013 it was designated as a landscape protection area (LSG) by the district council of the district of Olpe with the landscape plan No. 1 Bigge and Listertalsperre . The LSG is located in the Attendorn , Olpe and Drolshagen areas .

The LSG comprises the Biggesee and the Listertalsperre with bank areas.
Protection purpose
The designation was made to secure and maintain the natural suitability for recreation and the efficiency of the natural balance against the diverse civilizational demands on nature and landscape.
Legal regulations
In the landscape protection area, among other things, the erection of structures is prohibited. In the LSG, development zones were identified in the vicinity of existing leisure facilities or existing infrastructure such as parking lots. The areas in development zones can, under certain conditions, be used for intensified use such as building in the sense of the development goal of “building a contemporary, nature and landscape-oriented recreational infrastructure”.
