The landscape protection area Fleyer Wald with an area of 119.65  ha is located in the area of the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen.

description

Usually only built-up areas border the LSG. In the south the LSG borders on the A 46. In the north, an area borders directly on the Lenne-Niederung nature reserve and in the west on the Buschbach nature reserve . The Fern-Universität Hagen is right next to the LSG.

In the LSG there is a mixed forest area with rich undergrowth and some stored agricultural land. In this area there are deeply cut stream valleys, spring hollows, ponds and reservoirs.

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, the designation was made “to maintain and restore the efficiency of the natural balance, in particular by securing the mixed forest area with natural habitats, because of the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of the landscape, in particular because of the valuable, strongly differentiated natural forest complex and the stored agricultural land and because of the special importance of the Fleyer Forest as a recreation area close to the city, especially for quiet relaxation through the experience of natural habitats ”.
