The landscape protection area Im Lonscheid with an area of 179.21 ha is located in the area of the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen.
description
The Aske nature reserve borders to the west of the LSG . Otherwise built-up areas border the LSG. There are mainly deciduous forest areas in the LSG.
Protection purpose
According to the landscape plan, the designation was made “to maintain and restore the efficiency of the natural balance, in particular by securing naturally developed habitats, e.g. the quarry areas, because of the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of the landscape, especially because of its varied forest with well-developed forest edge and because of its special importance as a forest recreation area for the Haspe district ”.
