The nature reserve Olsberg with 7,947.1  hectares is located in the city of Olsberg . The area was in 2004 by the council of Hochsauerlandkreises with the landscape plan Olsberg as a conservation area designated (LSG). The LSG was designated as a type A LSG, general landscape protection. In the urban area there are also eleven landscape protection areas of type B outskirts, open land and cultural landscape protection and eleven of type C, meadow valleys, protection of significant extensive grasslands . The LSG consists of numerous sub-areas and partially borders directly on the outskirts of the settlement. In simplified terms, the LSG belongs to the Arnsberger Wald nature park north of the Ruhr and to the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park south of the Ruhr .

description

The LSG covers a large area of all areas in Olsberg that are outside of the building area and other protected areas. In the LSG there are mainly forest areas, furthermore large areas with open land (grassland and arable land) and smaller areas with Christmas tree , ornamental twigs and tree nursery cultures .

Protection purpose

The designation was made to secure and maintain the natural suitability for recreation and the efficiency of the natural balance against the diverse civilizational demands on nature and landscape.

Legal regulations

As in the other landscape protection areas in the urban area, the LSG prohibits the construction of structures. Construction projects for horticulture, agriculture and forestry are exempt from the prohibition ( Section 35 (1) No. 1 and 2 of the Building Code ). The Lower Nature Conservation Authority can issue special permits for buildings of all kinds.

There is a requirement for first afforestation, Christmas tree, decorative twigs and tree nursery cultures are to be created with a direct, clear connection to existing, wooded areas. Insofar as a planting or afforestation permit is required under other legal provisions, this requirement is subject to individual consideration within the framework of that official decision.
