Landscape protection area outskirts south and east of Olpe
The landscape protection area on the outskirts to the south and east of Olpe with 53.3 hectares is located in the urban area of Meschede and in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a landscape protection area (LSG) in 1994 with the Meschede landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The LSG is one of 102 landscape protection areas in the city of Meschede. In the city there is a landscape protection area of type A, 51 landscape protection areas of type B and 50 landscape protection areas of type C. The landscape protection area on the outskirts south and east of Olpe has been designated as a landscape plan area of type B, small-scale landscape protection. The LSG is part of the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park .

The LSG consists of two areas and is located south and east of Olpe . The LSG is directly adjacent to Olpe. Mainly grassland and arable land are located in the LSG .
Protection purpose
The designation was carried out to ensure the diversity and uniqueness of the landscape in the vicinity of the localities and the old agricultural priority areas by keeping it open. Also because of its special importance for recreation.
Legal regulations
As in the other landscape protection areas in the urban area, the LSG prohibits the construction of structures. Construction projects for horticulture, agriculture and forestry in accordance with Section 35 (1) No. 1 and 2 of the Building Code are exempt from the ban . The Lower Nature Conservation Authority can issue exceptional permits for buildings of all kinds. As in the other type B landscape protection areas in Meschede, the LSG prohibits initial afforestation and the creation of Christmas trees , ornamental branches and tree nurseries .
