Landscape protection area Western outskirts of Olpe
The nature reserve western outskirts of Olpe with 61.3 hectares is located in the urban area of Meschede and in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a landscape protection area (LSG) in 1994 with the Meschede landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The LSG is one of 102 landscape protection areas in the city of Meschede. In the city there is a landscape protection area of type A, 51 landscape protection areas of type B and 50 landscape protection areas of type C. The landscape protection area western outskirts of Olpe has been designated as a landscape plan area of type B, small-scale landscape protection. The LSG is part of the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park .

The LSG is located to the west and northwest of Olpe . The LSG is directly adjacent to Olpe. The federal highway 46 divides the LSG. Mainly grassland and arable land are located in the LSG .
Protection purpose
The designation was carried out to ensure the diversity and uniqueness of the landscape in the vicinity of the localities and the old agricultural priority areas by keeping it open.
Legal regulations
How is the LSG into the other protected areas of type B in Meschede prohibition of afforestation and tree - Schmuckreisig- and nursery crops to apply. As in all type B landscape planning areas in the urban area, there is a requirement to keep the LSG free from forest cover through agricultural use or through maintenance measures.
