The landscape protection area of ​​Paderborn and Bad Lippspring Forests with 1664.57  hectares is located in the Paderborn district . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 1999 by the district council with the landscape plan Paderborn - Bad Lippspringe . The LSG consists of ten sub-areas that are often divided by streets.

The LSG includes forest areas in the cities of Paderborn and Bad Lippspringe in the east and south of the landscape planning area. These are the forest areas Lippspringer Wald , Neuenbekener Wald , Paderborn fish ponds , Sammtholz , Haxterholz and the forest south of Dahl . Several protected areas border directly on the LSG.

In the LSG there are large and near-natural beech, mixed beech and spruce forests with dry valleys, streams, small bodies of water, ponds, rocks, spring areas, swallow holes and sinkholes. In the LSG there are forests with old and dead wood.

In the LSG, the proportion of semi-natural deciduous and mixed forest stands in the total forest stand is to be increased. By replacing non-site conifers after the cut with local deciduous trees that are appropriate for the site. Suitable single trees and groups of trees should develop into islands of old wood and dead wood and cave trees should be preserved. Existing grassland areas within the forest areas are to be preserved and developed.
