Landscape protection area at the edge heights between Sintfeld and Diemeltal

The nature reserve Randhöhen between Sintfeld and Diemeltal with 1165.26  hectares is located in the northeastern urban area of Marsberg and in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a landscape protection area (LSG) by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2002 with the Marsberg landscape plan . The LSG was designated as type A LSG, General Landscape Protection.

The LSG comprises large areas that are outside of the building area and other protected areas. In the LSG there are mainly forest areas and smaller areas with open land (grassland and arable land).

Protection purpose

The designation was made to secure and maintain the natural suitability for recreation and the efficiency of the natural balance against the diverse civilizational demands on nature and landscape.

Legal regulations

As in the other landscape protection areas in the urban area, the LSG prohibits the construction of structures. Construction projects for horticulture, agriculture and forestry are exempt from the ban. The Lower Nature Conservation Authority can issue special permits for buildings of all kinds.
