The landscape protection area Restmoorflächen in Wiesedermeer is a landscape protection area in the district of Wittmund in the state of Lower Saxony . It bears the number LSG WTM 00020. As the lower nature conservation authority, the Wittmund district is responsible for the area.
Description of the area
The conservation area is located east of Wiesedermeer , a district of the Friedeburg municipality in East Frisia . It is largely located on the Kolrunger Moor and borders on the nature reserve there.
Protection purpose
The general protection purpose is the "protection of the partially peeled and relatively dry remnants of the former extensive Kollrunger Moor as a predominantly near-natural relic of the former natural landscape". In order to achieve this goal, the landscape protection area is to be expanded to the southern border of the district and converted into a nature reserve.
