Landscape protection area Werdringen / Kaisberg

The landscape protection area Werdringen / Kaisberg with an area of ​​97.76  ha is located in the area of ​​the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen.

The LSG borders the Gut Hausen landscape protection area in the northeast and the Kaisbergaue nature reserve in the north . Otherwise there will be agricultural land without protection.

The Kaisberg with its mixed forest stands is located in the LSG. The Freiherr von Stein tower is located in the protected area . From this tower you have a view over the entire Ruhr valley, although the tower has been closed to visitors for a long time.

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, it was designated “because of the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of the landscape, especially of the Kaisberg and because of its special importance as a recreation area and forest recreation area close to the city”.
