Country team of the Dobruja and Bulgarian Germans

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Landsmannschaft der Dobruja and Bulgarian Germans was an association of expellees that existed from around the late 1940s to 2009. The Landsmannschaft was a member of the Association of Expellees (BdV). Gertrud Knopp-Rüb, who resigned her office for reasons of age, was the federal chairwoman until the end of 2008.

history

In contrast to the members of other country teams, the Dobruja and Bulgarian Germans were not expelled from their homeland. They voluntarily resettled to the German Reich in 1940 after the Dobrudscha was occupied by Bulgaria in 1940. A return of the lost homeland was therefore never requested.

Otto Klett was a senior manager in the Landsmannschaft for many years.

At the general meeting on September 21, 2008 in Stuttgart, the members decided by a large majority to join the Bessarabiendeutsche Verein . The reason for the connection is the disintegration of the country team, as many of its members from the experience generation have now died.

The interests of this country team have been officially represented by the Bessarabiendeutscher Verein since January 1st, 2009. The interests of the Dobrudscha Germans are represented by at least one person on the narrow board of the association. To this end, articles relevant to Dobruja appear in the association's newsletter.
