Map with all coordinates: The Landwasser Tunnel is a 2740 m long road tunnel that connects the districts of Davos Wiesen and Davos Monstein .
It is part of Hauptstrasse 417 . Until 1974, road traffic ran exclusively on the road in the bottom of the Zügen Gorge , which was often at risk of avalanches in winter , along the eponymous river Landwasser . Therefore, car loading was offered here if required .
Although only about a twelfth as long, the Landwasser Tunnel of the Rhaetian Railway five kilometers away, along with the Landwasser Viaduct, is considerably better known.
