Langdysse from Nordenbro

The Langdysse of Nordenbro is located north of Magleby in the south of the island of Langeland in Denmark . The complex was built between 3500 and 2800 BC. BC as a large stone grave of the funnel cup culture (TBK).

description

The heavily plowed about 2.3 m high trapezoidal hill of the giant bed of the Langdysse measures about 19.7 × 8.0 m, with up to 2.0 m large, partly still standing curbs. In the middle of the hill, with the flat side up, there are two or three stones directly on the surface. One is over 6 feet, the other over 6 feet. Presumably it is a matter of a chamber remnant (possibly two cap stones in situ ).

To the south lies the Langdysse from Søndenbro .

Individual evidence

  1. Langdysse is the name commonly used in Denmark for dolmens that lie in a rectangular or trapezoidal barn, in contrast to the Runddysser dolmens that lie in a round hill
