Long-term study of mass communication

Since 1964, which is ARD / ZDF - long-term study mass communication collected regularly to find answers to questions about the mass media to obtain. In this way, trends and demands on the media are determined over a period of now 50 years . In 2005 the so-called 9th “wave” was created, and in 2010 the 10th wave of the work. The most recent wave of surveys took place in 2015.

Since 2017, the long-term study on mass communication has been carried out together with the ARD / ZDF online study as part of the “Media and Audience Study Series” (MiP). The series asks users about their use of video, audio and text media, differentiated between “classic” and online media.
