The Lanova AG was a German engine manufacturer. The company was founded in 1930 by Franz Lang and Albert Wielich. The company's goal was the further development of an injection diesel engine begun by Franz Lang.

history

After the First World War, Franz Lang was under contract with Robert Bosch GmbH as an engine developer. He was involved in the further development of diesel engines and had invented the acro air storage process, for which several patents were registered. Then there were differences with Robert Bosch AG. Among other things, it concerned the contract for his cooperation with Bosch from 1925 and various allegations of fraud. Because of this, he left Bosch in 1926.

As a result of the conflict with Bosch, Franz Lang came back in touch with Albert Wielich and founded Lanova AG with him in 1930. At the same time, a settlement was reached with Robert Bosch AG, in which Franz Lang and Albert Wielich agreed on further cooperation with Robert Bosch AG. In 1930, Robert Bosch AG allowed Franz Lang to exploit his inventions, some of which were dependent on Bosch's Acro patents.

Lanova AG became famous for the Lanova injection process , which is based on the Lanova air storage process for diesel engines.
