Laparostoma

A laparostoma is an artificially created connection between the abdominal cavity and the outside world. In the case of diseases of the peritoneum or retroperitoneum, it is used as a simple access route to the diseased organs, for example to do rinsing. This can prevent frequent laparotomies . Areas of application are acute necrotizing pancreatitis or purulent peritonitis .
