Larry Desrochers
Larry Desrochers is a Canadian theater director and director.
Desrochers studied theater and drama at the University of Winnipeg . He became assistant director and later artistic director at the Manitoba Theater Center , where he directed a. a. 1992 the world premiere of Maureen Hunter's play Transit of Venus . He founded the Winnipeg Fringe Festival and produced and directed the opening and closing ceremonies of the Pan American Games in Winnipeg in 1999 .
The Winnipeg Fringe Festival , also directed by Desrochers, became one of the most successful fringe festivals in Canada. He became General Manager of the Winnipeg Film Group and is General Manager and CEO of Manitoba Opera . In 2003 he received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Winnipeg .
