Lars Johan Hierta memorial

The Lars Johan Hierta Monument is a memorial to Lars Johan Hierta , the founder of the Aftonbladet , in Stockholm , Sweden .

It is located on the northeast side of Riddarhustorget in Stockholm's old town Gamla stan . The monument consists of a bronze sculpture Hiertas standing on a high pedestal . It was created by Christian Eriksson in 1927 and initially installed in Klara kyrkogård , Stockholm's classic newspaper district. It was then implemented in 1960 and was initially located on Munkbron Street and moved to its current location in 2001.

On the base is the Swedish inscription:

PRESS OCH ETT FOLKLIGT
SAMHÄLLSSKICK

On another side of the base is the inscription referring to the donor of the monument:
