Lars Bay Larsen

Lars Bay Larsen (* 1953 ) is a Danish lawyer and judge at the European Court of Justice .

Life

Lars Bay Larsen studied political science and law at the University of Copenhagen . From 1983 to 1985 he was a civil servant in the Danish Ministry of Justice and 1985/86 Head of Unit at the Advokatsamfund. From 1986 he worked as a division head in the Ministry of Justice, was head of department from 1991 and became head of the police service in 1995. From 1995 to 2000 he was Denmark's representative on the K4 Committee, from 1996 to 1998 in the Central Schengen Group and from 1998 to 2000 on the Europol Management Board. In January 2000 he started working as head of the legal service at the Ministry of Justice and in 2003 became a judge at Højesteret .

Since January 11, 2006, Larsen has been the Danish judge at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg . He heads the third chamber.
