Lars Rebien Sørensen

Lars Rebien Sørensen (* 10. October 1954 ) is chief executive of Diabetes pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk A / S .

Sørensen began his professional career at Novo Nordisk in marketing for enzymes in 1982. Over the years he has worked for the company in numerous foreign positions. Sørensen was elected a member of the company's management in May 1994. In December 1994 he was given responsibility for the health sector. In November 2000 he was appointed CEO of the group.

Sørensen is also a deputy supervisory board member at Carlsberg A / S, Denmark and was a member of the Bertelsmann AG supervisory board from 2005 to 2015 .

Sørensen holds a Masters of Science in Forestry from the Royal Veterinary and Agriculture University (merged into the Environmental Faculty of the University of Copenhagen ) and a Bachelor of Science in International Economics from Copenhagen Business School in 1983.

Sørensen was awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur in 2005.

In October 2007 Sørensen received a professorship at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at the University of Copenhagen .
