Royal Veterinary and Agriculture University

The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University ( Danish : Kongelige Veterinær- og Landbohøjskole ), KVL for short , was a state veterinary and agricultural university in Denmark . The KVL went back to an agricultural school from 1773, was founded as a university in 1856 and was based in Frederiksberg near Copenhagen . The last chairman of the KVL was Erik Bonnerup .

On January 1, 2007, the former college was incorporated into the University of Copenhagen . It continued to exist as an environmental science faculty (abbr. LIFE) until 2011 . On January 1, 2012, the faculty was merged with the Faculty of Natural Sciences to form the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences, with the veterinary departments being incorporated into the Faculty of Medicine.

The University (and the subsequent Environmental Sciences) led departments to diet and environment , home economics , agricultural sciences , natural sciences , food sciences , Veterinary Pathobiology , small animal science , plant biology , large animal science , Basic Animal and Veterinary Medicine , Ecology and forestry and landscape planning .
