larswm is a window manager with tiling . It uses ideas from the older 9wm window manager , supports automatic tiling and virtual desktops . He also uses other ideas the acme - development environment , such as a limited form of Plumbing. Objects are displayed as tiles in non-overlapping areas, instead of windows that can be stacked, which can require less memory and lower demands on the CPU .
