The Lasch bunker was a military command bunker under the Paradeplatz (Königsberg) .

construction

The bunker system was completed in March 1939 (together with a similar system on Hansaplatz ). From March to April 9, 1945, the staff of General Otto Lasch's infantry was there , who was supposed to defend the Königsberg fortress and hold it down to the last man. In this underground command post, Lasch directed the hopeless defense of East Prussia's provincial capital from April 6th to 9th, 1945. The bunker is an approximately 30-meter-long underground corridor with 21 rooms. At both ends of the corridor there are exits that lead to the parade ground in front of the Albertina . On April 9th at 9:00 p.m. the document of surrender was signed in the bunker.

The military bunker, now a branch of the Kaliningrad Museum of History and Art, is a historical monument from the times of World War II. The exhibition is dedicated to the days of the ingestion from April 6th to 9th. In one of the 21 bunker rooms you can see General Lasch's reconstructed room, in which the deed of surrender was signed.
