The bremenports GmbH & Co. KG (proper spelling: bremenports ) is the private law organized port management company of Bremen , based in Bremerhaven . The company is 100% owned by the City of Bremen. It is responsible for the development, expansion and maintenance of the Bremen ports and the ports in Bremerhaven . Your tasks range from marketing the infrastructure of the ports to the control and coordination of major projects and construction maintenance to marketing for the port and logistics location Bremen / Bremerhaven.
History and tasks
The company was founded in 2002 by the city (not the state) of Bremen to bundle the port management. It currently employs 373 people. The company is based in Bremerhaven with a branch in Bremen.
The tasks include port construction, maintenance, plant operation ( locks , bridges , barrages , telecommunications), property management and location marketing. The quay length of the managed port group Bremen / Bremerhaven is almost 34 kilometers. The Bremen Harbor Railway has a track length of 250 kilometers.
The Maritime Week on the Weser is organized by Bremenports, among others.
