Laserzlauf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Laserzlauf , which has been held annually in January since 1983, is a high mountain run in the Lienz Dolomites . The ski mountaineering competition, divided into three classes (racing, touring and team class), leads from Lavant via the Karlsbader Hut to the Kreithof. Runners who take part in the Austria Skitour Cup must start in the racing class.

Karlsbaderhütte with downhill slope

At the jubilee run (25 years) on January 6, 2008, the racers had to put on their skins again after descending from the Laserztörl to the Karlsbader Hut and then tackled the ascent to the Ödkarscharte again. Then after a descent over the Kerschbaumertörl, the route merged into the original route. In 2012, the organizers had to relocate the run to safe terrain due to an approaching storm. The route therefore led from the Kreithof via the Dolomitenhütte further into the Laserzkessel to the Karlsbader Hütte. There was the turning point, the descent finally led back to the Dolomitenhütte.
