Load torque lock

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Load torque locks belong to the clutches that shift automatically depending on the direction of rotation and are used, for example, in drive technology to transmit a torsional moment in one direction of force flow, but to block moments from the opposite direction.

Depending on the design, the load torque lock allows, for example, the drive to introduce torque in both the left and right drive directions. If the drive is at a standstill and a load on the output tries to send a restoring torque through the drive train in any direction of rotation, the load torque lock blocks a restoring rotary movement , similar to a freewheel .

Load torque locks are used, for example, for actuators . Here they ensure that restoring forces from the fittings are not passed on and that the set fitting position is retained.
