Latinobarómetro

Corporación Latinobarómetro is an independent private non-profit organization based in Providencia , Province of Santiago , Chile , which conducts social science surveys in Latin America and is also responsible for the publication of the results.

The board of directors of Lantinobarómetro is composed entirely of Chilean citizens. The organization is regulated according to Chilean law. Marta Lagos is the founder and director . An international advisory council, the International Advisory Council , supports the founder and director.

In the non-profit organization Latinobarómetro, social and political actors in Latin America are primarily involved. The company sees itself as independent of external influences.

Study Latinobarómetro

The study of the same name carried out by the non-profit organization “Latinobarómetro” is an annual opinion poll that has claimed to represent the opinion of more than 600 million people since 1995 (with the exception of 1999) with around 20,000 interviews in 18 Latin American countries. The study observes the development of democracies, economies and societies, which are used as indicators of attitudes, opinions and behavior.

She began working in public opinion research in 1984 at the Centro de Estudios de la Realidad Contemporánea (CERC) in Chile, where she was director from 1990 to 1993.
