Laura Clérico

Laura Clérico (born July 31, 1966 in Quilmes ) is an Argentine lawyer and university professor.

Live and act

Clérico studied law at the University of Buenos Aires from 1984 to 1989 . In November 1989 she was admitted to the Buenos Aires Bar Association, but on December 1, 1989 she took up a position as a teaching assistant at the Chair of Constitutional Law at the University of Buenos Aires. From 1992 to 1994 she worked in the Argentine Ministry of Justice. At the same time she worked as a lecturer for constitutional law and comparative constitution at the Universidad de Lomas de Zamora. From October 1994 to November 1995 she studied at the University of Kiel as part of a DAAD scholarship . There she obtained her Magister legum in January 1996. She then worked as a doctoral candidate at Robert Alexy's chair in Kiel . Under his supervision, Clérico was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD.

As a result, she returned to Argentina and worked from 2000 to March 2002 in the Federal Ministry of Education there as a consultant for education for human rights, ethics and citizenship. In March 2003, Clérico took up a full professorship for constitutional law at the University of Buenos Aires as a 1/4 position, which she still holds today. From 2003 to 2005 she was visiting professor of constitutional law at the University of Patagonia . From August 2005 to August 2007, she held the full chair of General Principles of Latin American Law at the University of Buenos Aires. From April 2014 to April 2016 she was DAAD professor at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . Since 2014 she has also been the deputy administrative judge of the city of Buenos Aires.

Her main research interests are constitutional law and comparative constitutional law. She has published various articles in these areas, mainly in Spanish and English.
