According to the system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The phonetic system or speech loudspeaker system is the set of speech sounds that are spoken in a certain language and are used for linguistic communication . The sounds are arranged systematically according to phonetic criteria; this can be articulatory, acoustic or auditory criteria. Every language has its own sound system. For example, the soft ego sound ç is characteristic of the German sound system . The characteristic sounds of French include nasal vowels such as [ã].

Sound system - phoneme system

One must clearly distinguish the sound system of a language from its phonemic system , since the sound system also includes phonologically irrelevant phenomena such as the so-called cracking sound in German and all allophones including their phonetic variants. Duden. The grammar uses phonetic system only as a reference keyword for "phoneme system". Sound systems are the subject of phonetics , "phoneme systems" are the subject of phonology ( phonemics ).
