Laxton Hall is a manor house on the site of the ruins of Laxton Castle north of the village of Laxton in the English county of Nottinghamshire .

history

In 1408 the Roos family bought the Laxton Castle estate. In the 16th century the castle was already in ruins. Back then, the family had a three-gabled mansion built from brick and named it "Laxton Hall".

The property often changed hands in the 17th and 18th centuries. In 1788 it came into the hands of Charles Pierrepoint, 1st Earl Manvers , whose family kept it until 1952. Then it was sold to the Ministry of Agriculture.

In 1981 the Crown Estate managers bought it .
