Leading Swiss Agencies is an association of communication agencies in Switzerland .
history
The association was founded in 1935 as the Federation of Swiss Advertising Consultants (BSR) . It was later renamed BSW Federation of Swiss Advertising Agencies and in 2001 BSW Industry Association of Swiss Advertising and Communication Agencies. In spring 2005, the name was changed to BSW Leading Swiss Agencies , and the current name of the association, Leading Swiss Agencies , was decided at the general meeting on June 10, 2015 .

The association is a professional organization that represents the interests of the agencies towards clients, the media, the public and authorities. This includes, for example, the enforcement of certain rules when selecting an agency (so-called pitches ) or the commitment to legal restrictions when advertising certain products (e.g. alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceuticals). In addition, the association offers its members various services (training and further education, job placement, legal advice, development of industry principles and model contracts), is the organizer of the Swiss Effie Awards and a partner of the Clio Awards .
Although only just under 75 companies or 7 percent of all communication agencies based in Switzerland are members, they together manage around two thirds of Swiss advertising expenditure, which corresponds to around CHF 2.5 billion. The association therefore primarily represents the country's large agencies, while medium-sized and smaller agencies are organized in the ASW Allianz Swiss Advertising Agencies .
The association is a member of Kommunikation Schweiz (KS) , the Swiss umbrella organization for advertising agencies, advertising clients and media founded in 1925 .
