The Lebedev LM-1 ( Russian Лебедев ЛМ-1 ) was a Russian military aircraft project .

development

The LM-1, also known as Lebed Morskoi , was an ambitious attempt to create a high-performance seaplane for the Russian Navy based on the established Lebedev designs . In order to obtain the desired performance with the higher mass and the greater aerodynamic resistance of a float plane, a 220-hp Renault engine was used. Since this engine was not available when the prototype was completed, a significantly weaker engine had to be installed, which had an impact on performance. As the future availability of the Renault engine in Russia was not foreseeable, the project finally had to be discontinued.
