Teaching pool

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Teaching pools are pools that are suitable for learning to swim due to their shallow water depth and special structural design . Also rehabilitation courses or water aerobics are there possible without the ability to require swimming.

Structural design

Teaching pools can be arranged as separate pools in larger pools , or they can be the only pool in a small pool. These smaller swimming pools were then often built on the same site or in the immediate vicinity of schools or rehabilitation facilities in order to keep distances short.

The same guidelines and standards apply to planning as to indoor swimming pools in general. In deviation from this, the maximum water depth is set at 1.35 m, 0.80 to 1.20 m is recommended. The water depth is measured from the pool floor to the top of the overflow . The pool should drop from the shallowest to the deepest part with a slope of a maximum of 10 degrees. Over the entire length of one side of the pool (either transversely or longitudinally), stairs with handrails should be arranged on the flat side, via which a group of non-swimmers can enter the water at the same time.

The usual dimensions of the swimming pool are 8 × 12.50 m or 10 × 16.66 cm. The size should not be less than 6 × 12.50 m. Swimming pools can be converted into teaching pools using a lifting floor .

business

Supervising staff is not absolutely necessary in shallow teaching pools up to a maximum depth of 1.35 m (non-swimmer pools). The supervision can optionally only be provided by the teaching staff. Public use is also possible for a type of operation with supervisory staff (e.g. swimming supervisor).

The water temperature is usually increased compared to swimmer pools, for example to 27 to 32 degrees for baby swimming .
