Association of the German Central Specialized Libraries
The network of the German central specialist libraries (also managed under the cooperation name Goportis ) is a German library network of the central specialist libraries ( Technical Information Library Hanover, ZB MED - Information Center Life Sciences Cologne / Bonn, German Central Library for Economic Sciences Kiel / Hamburg). The three libraries are members of the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Scientific Community (WGL). The association was founded in Cologne in March 2009 in order to institutionalize the already existing cooperation.
The aims of the cooperation are to bundle knowledge and stimulate further developments in the following areas of competence:
- Licensing
- Long-term archiving
