The Leiden Indo-European Etymological Dictionary Series is a linguistic series in which modern English versions of etymological dictionaries on the vocabulary and grammar of the (historical) Indo-European individual languages ​​appear in succession. The series goes back to a 1991 project by the Dutch Indo-Europeanists from the University of Leiden Robert SP Beekes and Alexander Lubotsky . The aim of the project ( Leiden New Pokorny Projectsamsung stor gadget ) is to replace the outdated standard work by Julius Pokorny , the “Indo-European Etymological Dictionary” from 1959, in a contemporary way.
