Leipheimer Linde
The Leipheimer Linde is a perennial winter linden tree in the town of Leipheim in the Swabian district of Günzburg . It has a trunk circumference of 10.5 meters.
The Leipheimer Linde survived a fire in 1979. In December 1999, the orcan of the century Lothar caused a several meter long crack in the trunk. In November 2007, the tree could only be preserved by a radical crown securing cut, in which it was shortened from 30 meters to 8 meters. The city council's decision to rescue it at the time corrected a previous felling decision, which had been based on the classification of the tree as irredeemable due to a fungal attack.
In 2015 the circumference was 10.32 m and the height 13 m.
